What You Should Know Before Installation?

Points that always come up in discussions before a roof deck or balcony installation project:

1. Weight loads: Roof decks may have weight load limits they can support. It is recommended to consult with an engineer before installing anything on the deck, whether it is grass or not.
2. Proper surface preparation: Concrete surface preparation is critical; it should be levelled, sealed, and ready for installation of the artificial grass surface. Otherwise, the results are far from ideal, that is, unlevelled surface, improper drainage system, or an artificial grass surface not sitting properly.
3. Pile height and density: On a roof deck or balcony, the optimal pile height ranges between 25 and 35 mm while being fairly dense. This allows for great aesthetics and performance on occasion of heavy usage.
4. UV stabilization: Choose artificial grass that is UV stabilised. Being directly exposed to the sun all day, rooftop grass fades away in a year or two unless it has UV stabilisation.
